Atlantic Professional Audio’s Engineered Events now own a complete Turbosound Flex Array System! The Flex Arrays are Turbosound’s first line array product and they really deliver. The system is made up of self powered TFA-600HDP full range boxes and self powered TSW-218DP sub-woofers. These boxes are unique in that the co-axially mounted mid/high section features a 6 ½” mid-range driver that works up to 6kHz where the 1” horn driver takes over. This ensures smooth and punchy midrange that certainly has reach. The onboard 96kHz DSP and super efficient amplifiers pack a huge punch, especially for their size and weight and the RJ45 network can be used to control multiple speakers remotely in a BV-Net network.
Each TFA-600HDP weighs less than 100 pounds with dimensions of 28” x 12" x 22" and it only takes 4 of these speakers to reach 148dB peak output! At very high SPL, the sound remains very intelligible and smooth and the Flex Array has the familiar Turbosound trait of being very linear with respect to level. You turn it up and it just gets louder, not different sounding.
Another feature that makes the Flex Array System so flexible is the unique flyware. The TFA-600HDP has both vertical and horizontal flying systems made possible by a rotatable mid/high section that is built into the cabinet, no loose pieces. An “A” mode for line array use and a “B” mode for point source use give one box incredible flexibility and the flying hardware is integrated into the box for both applications.
Both the tops and the subs are easy to manage both weight and size wise. Plus, three TFA-600HDP’s can be pre-rigged and packed into a flight case for easy transportation and speedy set-up.
