78 Inputs for 42nd Street at Riverside Theatre

42nd Street is one of Broadway’s longest running musicals, filled with spectacular dance routines, lavish costumes, and wonderful songs. Craig Beyrooti of Atlantic Professional Audio was entrusted once again with the Sound Design for this huge musical, one of the theatre’s biggest productions ever.
The full cast of 30 actors all required wireless mics; the two leads also needed their tap shoes miked up with a further two wireless systems; seven area mics were also dialed in to pick up the tap dancing routines of which there are an abundance of; add two wireless handhelds, 6 channels of FX playback and an eight piece band and the APA provided Soundcraft Si3 was almost maxed out. The theatre’s Yamaha DM2000 was used for the monitor system and also located front of house as the show was run by the theatre’s Supervisor of Sound, Karl Kern assisted by Lara Terrell and David Gerena.
The show was a huge success and broke many records for the theatre. Craig says 42nd Street is the biggest show he has sound designed for the theatre and it sounded great. He would also like to thank Allen Cornell, CEO, and Jon Moses, managing Director, of Riverside Theatre for having him back in the house once again.
